The Barred Owl (Strix varia) is a large, brown and white owl known for its distinct “who cooks for you, who cooks for you-all” hoot. This bird of prey can be found in Eastern North American, across much of Canada and large areas in the Pacific Northwest. Barred owls are formidable nocturnal hunters, preying on small mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. During the day they normally rest in tree cavities for shelter. They are non-migratory and thrive in dense, wet woodlands often close to water. They have a lifespan of around 10 years in the wild. The Barred Owl poster is shipped in a sturdy 2″ mailing tube with plastic endcaps. It will look great on the walls of any room and is a must for any lover of owl art.
